Battle Ground Farmers Market is also known as the "Old Town Saturday Market" in Old Town Battle Ground, the East end of BG.  The founder grew up in this area, and had  special memories of people waving at my family as we drove through what was once "downtown BG" before the West end was built up with commercial enterprises.  Due to this charm of downtown BG seeming to dissappear, the opportunities that an outdoor market could bring back some originallity was a dream brought to fruition.  With 2008 being the market's fourth year and season, the market continues to involve folks of the community together to share ideas and products that come from the heart.  The vendors are sharing with others what they believe in while the visitors and customers are reinforcing the "buy local" concept with so  many social interactions that happen at the market.  Come share with us as we build the second largest farmers market in Clark County!
Many of the members of the market who you see every season, are all members of the market and have helped develop a core group of people that makes the market that much stronger.  Our regular and new visitors of the market have had just as much support as we have grown the market from 2.5 regular vendors to the numbers of 2007- 36 members!    As a result, the market is transforming in to an official non profit organization.  We look forward to the partnerships, fundraising, educational opportunities this association can enhance the community with!
About our new permanent location announcement-we are proud to announce a new partnership with the market, Carmen Villarma and Linda Thomas of The Management Group.  They have enabled this market to secure a permanent, more pedestrian friendly home for the market.  The courtyard, retail shops, resturaunts, apartment and housing developments, walking trails, and parks  that surround or are near the village only enhances what the market can add to East end of BG.
